I'm still sore

So Saturday Tim and I went snowboarding at Crystal Mountain. I still hurt all over. It was fun, but wow...I want the soreness to go away. I'd definitely go back to Crystal though. And give snowboarding another chance. Going heel side was a lot easier. Toe side is more difficult. And I made it down the bunny hill a few times without falling. Did not manage any "green" hills, but there is always next time.

I should add Tim was super awesome when I did not manage the "green" hill. It was the end of the day and he had more confidence in my snowboarding skills than I did. As well, Crystal did not label that the Hoot a "green" trail is Not open at night.

In other news, work is insanely stressful. But more potential investors are sniffing around. And my Father has finally heard me when I talk about moving back to A2. I should be down in A2 in just over 3 months. That will give us time to get the company moving in a new direction and to train someone new. Woop...I'll be nagging Tim about his socks in no time!

Jill Carroll enters the Question and Answer portion of her experience

I've been reading "Hostage, the Jill Carroll Story" in Christian Science Monitor. The following was simply cut and paste.

"After Jill was released, the Monitor invited readers to send in questions about her experience. Hundreds of people responded, and Jill sat down with Monitor correspondent Peter Grier, to share her thoughts on camera.

Each part of the series will feature a new video selection from Jill, and a full transcript of that day's question-and-answer.

Q. Because of your well-known support of everything Muslim, many of your fellow Americans, including myself, believe your capture was not real, but was in fact conducted and staged with your cooperation, and, that you are a traitor to your country as well as to your family and friends. What is your response to those allegations?
– I. Macias Jr., San Antonio, Texas

A. Well, of course, it's absurd that I would arrange for this to happen. Alan was my friend, and like a brother to me. I don't know how anyone could ever think that anyone would ever wish to torture their family and their friends like this. It's not possible. I don't see what that has to do with my living in the Middle East, I don't see what that has to do with my work or with Islam or anything like that. But how could anyone ever put their family and their friends and their newspaper and everyone else through all this, and watch their friend get killed. I mean, no way. I can't imagine the kind of person that would ever want that to happen.

So, just because I live in the Middle East and care about understanding the Middle East and helping Americans understand the Middle East in the fairest most objective way possible, I don't see how that makes me a traitor. In fact, I do it because as citizens of a democracy it is our duty to be well-informed. And we can only express our wishes through our representatives of government properly and effectively in our best interests if we are properly informed. So, the reason I'm there, actually, is because I believe so much in our country's need to have good, fair, truthful information so they can make their own decisions about what we want our policies to be and who we are as a country.

It's really easy to say you're patriotic by doing what's easy. By hearing what everyone else wants to hear, saying what they want you to say, being what everyone wants you to be. But, like raising a child, you don't give them candy, and spoil them. You have to make them go to school every day, make them do their math homework every day. That's what's good for them. Not allow them to play on the playground all day long. So, that's kind of how I see it."

I'm terrified that I'm related to someone, who quite possibly is one of the many Americans that believes all Muslims are evil. That all the violence occurring around the world including the Middle East is orchestrated and organized. That believes there is only a single way to live life, and that the only people who deserve to live and breath, are the ones that behave in this singular manner.

I seem to be receiving many emails about how if I don't believe in God I need to leave the United States.

Now one of the main goals of the people who came from Europe was to escape religious prosecution, right?

In the process to escape this prosecution, spent years slaughtering anyone who didn't share similar religious ideals, years slaughtering those that did, and just years generally starving to death.

I understand this is a broad generalization.

However, I feel as if this is a response to the broad generalization that anyone who doesn't support having "in god we trust" printed on every single piece of paper or having prayer in schools is un-American and needs to leave the country.

I realize I haven't exactly made my point. But I have to get back to work. And I am curious what you think?

*Edit After Comments*
First having been raised Catholic and spending much time studying religion. Christianity is not an ugly religion...just like Judaism and Islam and Hindu and Buddhism are not ugly religions.

Most religions are largely misunderstood by mass generalization and stereotyping.

Christians, however, can be extremely ugly! Just like many "believers" in other religions. The fact that bureaucratic nonsense is so ingrained in religion and its practice is nauseating. Because I believe in Faith. I personally am not going to condemn you for using a different title. For that matter I'm not going to condemn you for Not having Faith.

But I'm guessing I define Faith differently than the wackos sending me these emails. Please also note, most of the wackos sending me these emails are blood relatives.

And really when your family are the crazy stalkers, the JW's are just funny. And in the end, most of those people truly have the best of intentions...they want you to believe in their God and by doing so they believe everyday life for you will be better, and bonus you'll go to heaven. This in and of itself is not a bad concept. Its the cartoons, thick comic books, about people going to suffer in hell because they are not strict JW's. Its the picketing of military funerals those Kentucky Christians think is so necessary, because it's important we realize god is punishing us for being too supportive of "Gay."

I intentionally capitalize and quote "Gay" because honestly those wackos think everything is "Gay!" I intentionally do not capitalize their god, because no one who believes in an higher power believes in kicking people when they're down.

It's mass hysteria brought on by fear. Its the washing over of history so it looks pretty. It is not only a dangerous brain washing of society...it is the complete loss of the concept "Think for yourself."

Allow me to visit an additional tangent of mine - creationism (or whatever they're calling it these days). I don't really care if they add creationism as a theory next to evolution in schools. Truly they are both Scientific theories, with validated evidence to support both. Neither has solid and complete irrefutable evidence. Because people collect and evaluate evidence, and no one is completely perfect. So flaws are good to find in theories. When we find these flaws in evidence or logic, we are looking harder, we are learning, we are thinking for ourselves.

The argument that creationism/evolution should or should not be taught based on religious beliefs is the problem. It's the idea that in United States we are so stupid...we can't be taught 2 conflicting theories (being taught as theories not as facts) and still be able to evaluate and weight the information being provided.

I don't have to leave my country because I don't agree with what is being called "Christian values." I was born here too damn it. If you're all so in love with the common and often flawed or ignorant views you share and hold on to so dearly...you leave.

I like living in a country where I can shout from my roof top that " fill in the blank ."

But than again, if you can't deal with their being valid opposing view points, be sure to replace those people with those, who don't speak a lot of English and are just happy not to be shot by the local drug lord. But always be sure to speak down to those replacement people and constantly complain about those people taking over. But they do great lawn work, don't they?

I needed to take a moment and rant. Its relatively unimportant.

The Food Network has a show Rachel Ray's "$40 a day." This show annoys me simply because of the tax + tip combination. Which tends to be tax plus maybe a whole $1.00 in tip. The prices may be wrong...its my best guess from memory. She's going through her eggs were $3.75, coffee $1.75, than tax + tip is $1.35.

Now she says she's getting $1.50 off her eggs, but she's tipping on the full price. I just laughed. In this case, a single person with a cheap breakfast. Most waitstaff want more than a dollar, but would pick it up and move on with their day.

But the great part is that she tips on the full price on her next 2 meals and each time its only a $1.00.

I lack the comedic timing to make people truly understand how funny this was.

I have a particular passion for foreign policy and most of the State of Union speech, last night was about foreign policy.

It's been interesting to see the international reaction...like Iran calling the US a "Hollow Superpower" and Hamas again refusing to recognize Israel and what Putin is discussing.

I've always been in love with Russia and Putin and his policies are a little scary...but more recently he's actually proposing things that make sense. I remember reading about Putin and his mafia ties and utilizing of violence a few years before he "came to power."

Bush's domestic polices were pretty much what every President says...but he brought up the Line Item Veto. Which during Clinton administration was deemed un-constitutional by the Supreme Court...but since we have 2 new justices apparently he's going to try and force it through again.

Did anyone else watch and see the new Democratic Party Gold Child...Governor Kaine...? What was that weird eyebrow thing? Once again it's confirmed that the Democrats are not going to actually suggest a new policy for Iraq. But he did a good job, and does what every opposing party response does...complain.

This is a good year for political change...its a midyear election. Representatives are scrambling. Senators are scared. I like when my elected representatives are held accountable.

Complaining is was both fascinated and bothers me about politics. I hate the war...I hate the idea that our foreign policy is throw $ or drop bombs...I hate that I friends are over there...but more I hate that politicians don't really present any new ways of handling Iraq or other countries we occupy or "assist." It just makes it seem pointless.

And I'm curious what legislation will actually be proposed to stop Pork Barrel Spending...it could actually make an impact on the way our government functions.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed yesterday. I don't remember anything after the 4th syringe went into my IV. I was numb all day yesterday and apparently sounded and looked high. Today I'm swollen, but I have Vicadin(sp?) for the pain. And there is pain. Weird pain...and the sockets are holding little pieces of food that I can't seem to remove without pain. I get to start using my syringe of warm water on Friday. But till than I just little presents of food past consumed. This morning I got a mushroom and a spaghetti-o from yesterday. Yeahhh...!

I also had my biopsy completed. Mild dysplatia(sp?)...which means they're going to watch me with PAPs every 4 months.

Really I've got nothing for anyone besides medical updates.

Hope all is well with the rest of the world.

I'll add a quiz for fun.

The Candy Flavored Condom!!
You are sweet.
So a few months back...they found something weird on my cervix. I had a biopsy on Monday. Which really wasn't painful during, but the cramping afterward...well it sucks. I'm still cramping! I get my results tomorrow.

Yeah! Modern Medical Science will tell me that it's nothing and I just have to get Pap smears every 4 months to make sure it stays nothing. That they're going to freeze off part of my cervix in order to remove all the weirdness and hopefully fix me all up. Or they'll tell me its cancer...extremely slim chance.

But all of this comes with a chance of never having children. Not that at the moment I really want kids, but the option potentially being taken away is scary.

Back to the daily grind. Hope all is well with the rest of the world.

One image that comes to everyone's mind is the large, fire breathing Dragons that loathed humans and loved to sleep on massive piles of gold. Not all dragons have a bad reputation. Most dragons are very wise, caring, and protective. It would make a person very lucky indeed to meet a dragon. Especially if they walked away untouched. Today was a 3 month re-check after she first found it. I'm going to Munson as soon as possible. And I'm sure it's nothing but I thought I'd keep people in the loop. As to why I may be loopy until I find out what is really going on.

On another note: I just want to save every unwanted or under appreciated animal on the planet.
